Both Jayne and John were chief officers in Local Government. Jayne was responsible for general needs and specialist housing, including extra care schemes, high level welfare rights and employment law advice as well as liaison with health and social welfare authorities. She eventually became the CEO of a highly rated supported-living charity and has helped bring out creative solutions for housing and support in the community.

Jayne regularly advises and trains individuals, families, service providers and authorities in how to get the best support and housing in the community.

Jayne has worked as an independent consultant using the income to provide an independent advocacy service for some of the people who have been stuck in assessment units for many years.

She is now freelance and her ambition is to train up a new, younger workforce, both voluntary and paid, to assist in the better knowledge and provision of specialist housing in England and Wales.

John Knight is retired solicitor. He has been an ally in the work of My Great Life since its inception and works voluntarily in the background. He has fulfilled his role as a director of the social enterprise in his genuine interest and concern for the legal rights of people to be treated with fairness and justice.

John held chief officer positions in legal services in local government covering a full range of services and also worked in private practice.

My Great Life employ local support workers wherever they provide local housing. They are planning on expanding the service this year and will be training more volunteers and paid workers.
